Requirements for Assessment

Attendance at tutorials is mandatory (at least 70%). In addition, students are required to participate in two intermediate tests.

Important: Both tests are mandatory, personal participation in these tests is a prerequisite for awarding assessment, without exception.

In the event of an illness, a student will be required to present a doctor's certificate. For any other valid reason for absence, a student must present supporting documents. In both cases, a student should apply for a new term, which is to be arranged by the tutor immediately after the end of a regular test.

A student can take each test only once; tests cannot be re-sat to achieve a higher point score.

Test Content

Test No. 1: Linear differential equations (fundamental system, initial value problem, boundary value problem).
Test No. 2: Double and triple integrals. Deformation of a domain on plane and in space.

The first written test is scheduled in the 5^th week of the semester during the tutorial and will last 40 minutes. This test consists of three problems and is estimated at 18 points.

The second multiple-choice test is scheduled in the 10^th week of the semester during the tutorial and will last 40 minutes. The maximum number of points a student will be able to gain is 24 points.

Marking of Tests

The maximum number of points a student can gain from the two tests is 42 points in total.

Each problem is a multiple-choice question with 1 correct and 4 wrong answers. In case of a wrong answer -1 point is awarded. If an answer is not selected, then 0 points are awarded for the problem.

The points achieved in tests are not taken into account for assessment of the final grade.

Additional criteria for the assessment may be determined by the tutor, who then decides whether to award the assessment or not.

If a student achieves at least 12 points (including negative points) from both intermediate tests and meets the additional criteria required by the tutor, then the assessment is awarded.

If a student achieves 6 points and less in two intermediate tests, the assessment is not awarded.

If a student satisfies the additional criteria by the tutor and the combined total is between 7 and 11 points inclusive the assessment is not awarded, but a student may take part in an additional written make-up exam, which will be offered after the completion of all two tests at the end of the semester. This exam shall consist of 10 simple problems to be solved (not multiple-choice results) and the assessment will be awarded on the basis of a minimum 50% of success.

• Differential equations of the second order (fundamental system, initial value problem, boundary value problem)
• Double integral, triple integral (evaluation of simple integrals)
• Deformation of a domain on plane and in space
• Evaluation of line integral of the 1^st kind

Rules of Intermediate Tests

• Students need to show an ID card with photograph (ie. ISIC card, lítačka, government-issued photo ID) to prove their identity.
• Students can only have blank sheets of paper, a pen and Accepted Help for MT02    on their desk. Accepted Help can not contain any additional formulas or information.
• Not allowed during any testing: calculators, mobile phones and any other means of communication, any watches, cameras and all electronic devices with an Internet connection, as well as any other supporting materials.
  All these devices must be in a sealed bag without access to them during the test.
• The seating arrangement is decided by the supervisor.

Violation of these rules results in the loss of the test and the initiation of disciplinary proceedings.
