Course Grades
The exam consists from the test in Mathematics (90 min.) and Statistics (40 min.) with a total amount of 45 points (35 for Mathematics, 10 for Statistics).
To pass the exam, students must fulfill all these conditions:
- to gain at least 25 points (the sum of points for the exam and the points for the test mark),
- to gain at least 5 points for Statistics,
- to take part in the oral exam.
Otherwise the final course grade is F (fail).
The course grades are awarded on the following scale using alphabetic grades from A to E for passes and F for fail as follows:
| 0 – 24 | = | F (fail) |
| 25 – 29 | = | E (sufficient) |
| 30 – 33 | = | D (satisfactory) |
| 34 – 37 | = | C (good) |
| 38 – 41 | = | B (very good) |
| 42 – 45 | = | A (excellent) |
It is the obligation of a student to take part in the oral exam on the same day as the written exam. Additional information about the time and the place of the oral exam will be given during the written exam. The subject of the interview is the completion of the evaluation of the written work and final exam. A sufficient number of points earned from the written part does not automatically mean that a student passes the exam.
The result of the oral exam may lower the grade of the work. In case of any doubts about the authorship of solutions presented, a student will receive the grade F.
Directly after the interview concludes, the examiner will inform the student about the final grade of his/her examination.
